AAIMS New President and Vice-President

May 17, 2024

Dear members,

This is to inform you of a change to the AAIMS executive members positions today.

Dr Jan Ali, who was formerly Vice-President of AAIMS, will fill the role of President left vacant by Associate Professor Zuleyha Keskin, who stood down from the role. Zuleyha moves to the Vice-President role.

We thank Zuleyha for her dedicated leadership as President over the past few years. She organised national conferences, workshops, and webinars that provided a platform for collaboration of academics in the field of Islam and Muslim studies and opportunities for development of students and early career researchers. We are fortunate to receive ongoing support from her in the role of Vice-President.

We welcome Jan to his new role and look forward to his guidance and direction in ensuring that AAIMS continues to provide  benefits for its members and the academic community.

All the best,

Among the participants of the two days debate were many officials, spiritual leaders, experts and academicians – Mr. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, H.V. Sheikh Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Mr. Khalid Fathalrahman Omer Mohamed, Director of the Center for Civilizational Dialogue at ICESCO, Dr. Dodik Ariyanto, Head of the OIC Islamophobia Observatory, and many other dignitaries, scholars and media representatives.”
