Call for Paper

We are pleased to announce to dear researchers and academics that we are seeking submissions for a special issue of the Journal of the Contemporary Study of Islam on the topic of Islam and the Discourse of the European Enlightenment. We welcome articles on the themes of the Islamic conception of Subjectivity and Maturity: the two most important categories of the Enlightenment; Islam and Reason; Islam and Political Sovereignty; Islam and Secularism; Islam and Development and any other related themes. We also welcome book reviews on the above topics.

Our journal is peer-viewed and indexed by several reputable databases.

Article length should be 5000 to 7000 words and should be submitted through the journal website: Submissions | Journal of the Contemporary Study of Islam.

Authors are advised to check the guidelines of submission, which are on the journal’s website, before making any submission and we kindly ask our dear contributors to avoid any issues which are acrimonious to any Muslim community or matters which may cause controversy and discord between Muslims.

For academics and authors interested in submitting to the journal kindly do so by mid to late June, 2023.

Contributors are asked to include a three-line profile about themselves containing academic affiliation and major publications.
