AAIMS Virtual Grant Workshop 2021

AAIMS is pleased to announce that it will organise a virtual workshop on grant applications. The workshop features two esteemed scholars in the field of Islamic and Muslim studies, Professor Shahram Akbarzadeh and Dr Joshua Roose.

Professor Shahram Akbarzadeh is Research Professor in Middle East and Central Asian Politics at Deakin University and the Deputy Director (International) of the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, Deakin University (Australia). He held an ARC Future Fellowship (2013-2016) on the role of Islam in Iran’s foreign policy-making and recently completed a Qatar Foundation grant on sectarianism in the Middle East.

Dr Josh Roose is a Senior Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute Melbourne. He gained his PhD in Political Science from the Asia Institute at the University of Melbourne in 2012. In 2019 Josh was awarded a BYU ICLRS – Oxford Young Scholars in Law and Religion Fellowship and, with colleagues, an ARC Discovery Project to explore the Far Right, Intellectuals, Masculinity and Citizenship.
